The Artful Stampers Challenge #64

Hello again and welcome from Alison’s blog.

I am finding so much inspiration from the ladies in this blog hopping rotation.  I have really, really enjoyed being a part of this amazing group – albeit stressful some weeks when that designing brick wall block pops up in my head!  And especially stressful on COLOUR CHALLENGE weeks!!!  Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I did manage to borrow two of the three missing colours this week and just substituted 2012-2014 In-Colour Strawberry Slush (retired) for the Rose Red.

When I saw the colours this week, I was determined not to use a floral stamp set.  But look at those soft, pastel colours – pinks and greens.  Don’t they just scream floral to you too???

So I caved in!  But in a good way – you get SNEAK PEAK number two from the upcoming 2016 Occasions Catalogue!!!

Remember the Sympathy card that I did last week?  (If not, you can read that post here)  Well, this is one of the floral images from that same stamp set – Rose Wonder.

Can you now see why I think this will be one of my most favoured sets in the new catalogue?  Great verse sentiments and just gorgeous florals too!  It’s going to be very versatile and worthy of it’s place on my shelf.

I have stamped and embossed the flower in white and then watercoloured to shade the image and create a soft background.

And for the inside…

I apologise for the quality of photos – I’m still learning those processes as well and these were taken late last night.  (Note to self – complete challenges earlier in week than last thing, late Sunday night, so photos can be taken in daylight hours!)  It’s a steep learning curve to say the least.

Don’t forget to keep hopping along – Annette is up next.

  1. Annette Sullivan

This is absolutely gorgeous. The watercolouring is perfect.

  2. Jane Riches

A beautiful card. Embossing the flower first is a great idea.
