One last Pigment Sprinkles…

So, as you know I’ve really been in to playing with the Pigment Sprinkles and just recently I had a stall at the MakerX Burnie exhibition in celebration of National Science Week at our local arts centre. I figured the way the Pigment Sprinkles play and react with water really fitted in with the theme of a science experiment.

On a second table, I was going to do demonstrations with the sprinkles and then let people have a go to create their own bookmark. However, over the course of just three hours my mum and I helped over 120 children create bookmarks!!! Needless to say that I didn’t get a single demonstration in. It was all hands on deck to just keep up with the kids wanting to have a go! Which is fantastic. You may be able to see the sample bookmark I made here…

Perhaps you can also spy a mini artist canvas and easel which I picked up at one of the local discount stores. The Pigment Sprinkles make for an easy piece of artwork for any space, even on an artist canvas. Here’s a closer look at it.

And because I’m sure you’re getting a little tired of all the sprinkles posts, I’ll just put the last two projects I’ve completed here as well.

In the first, I have heat embossed the butterfly with white embossing powder and then sprinkled the Pigment Sprinkles around. When you take an aqua painter and use the water to activate the sprinkles but only inside the embossed lines, it dilutes and spreads right out like painting with water colour. Then just give a very light spritz to activate the remaining crystals in the background. Looks so pretty right?

And for the last effort, after again embossing with white embossing powder, I tapped some Pigment Sprinkles onto a clear block and then just mixed with water and used it to just water colour completely.

I hope you can see that the Pigment Sprinkles are lots of fun, but they do also have lots of different ways to be used which give so many varied textures and gorgeous results for your projects.
