Ornamental Envelopes

As you probably already know or should have gathered by now – I’m a real Christmas-holic! So when the Holiday catalogue comes out, I’m usually awestruck by so many sets, it’s hard for me to decide which ones I just can’t live without.

With this years catalogue, I just knew that I had to have Ornamental Envelopes. Not only could I see lots of potential for gorgeous Christmas cards, but I was also able to see so much more in the images from the set and you will see that in the coming days.

What really made up my mind, was the coordinating die set – Envelope Dies. Whenever I create cards, I always make an extra effort and ensure that the envelope gets some love and never leaves the house naked! And these dies are just perfect for that. Can you see the detail on that envelope liner above?

I was inspired to create by a card I saw on Pinterest by Mary Fish.

For my CASE of her card, I used the baubles from Ornamental Envelopes and stamped them on Whisper White in Mossy Meadow and Real Red. I did a third set embossed in Gold and cut them all out with the dies. I’ve mixed all three colours of the baubles to make this card.

Like Mary, I’ve include a strip of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper on a Whisper White Thick card base, but also added in some Brushed Metallic Foil. The sentiment comes from Itty Bitty Christmas and is also embossed in gold. I think the Metallic Pearls just finish it off nicely.

The good thing about having to stamp the bauble in three colours to make this card is that I have a lot of leftovers to make other cards. Of course I had to finish them off, but make them different too. Here’s one in Mossy Meadow…

And one in Real Red…

All of the items I’ve used here are available to purchase in my ONLINE STORE.

Remember to upload a picture of any cards you make to my VIP Facebook group. I’d love to see them.
